Lafayette & Kumagai LLP is pleased to announce that Barbara L. Lyons has joined the firm. Ms. Lyons has over twenty years of experience as a California litigator. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard University and her Juris Doctorate from University of California at Davis School of Law (King Hall). Ms. Lyons’s practice includes all aspects of civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment and commercial litigation. She has trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts and has significant expertise in a wide range of employment litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wage and hour class actions. In addition, she has substantial experience handling general business and complex commercial litigation, including breach of contract, antitrust, securities, qui tam, fraud, toxic tort, intellectual property and bankruptcy adversary litigation matters.
Prior to joining Lafayette & Kumagai, Ms. Lyons practiced law in Sacramento and the San Francisco area as counsel for Davis Wang, Farbstein & Blackman, Mennemeier, Glassman & Stroud, LLP and Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy. Ms. Lyons was an in house litigation attorney for High Integrity Systems in Sacramento, CA. Ms. Lyons is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for all Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
